Dr. Mary Paige - Psychotherapy - Relationship Counseling - San Francisco and Novato, California

Hello, I have been practicing as a psychotherapist since 1987 in San Francisco and Novato. My specialty has been working with people who have grown up with a narcissistic parent or parents or who have had the bad luck of marrying or working for someone with this very difficult disorder. Out of this work, I have developed ways of working with the anxiety and depression that comes along with the destruction to self esteem. Of course, I have also worked with other issues that we humans have such as fertility problems, marital problems, body image and weight, sexuality, sexual preference and coping with loss, grief and loneliness.

My original Masters Degree was in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy which gave me a spiritual perspective on human development. Then later, I completed a Doctorate in Psychology from the Professional School of Psychology in Clinical Psychology. This gave me a deeper understanding and training in depth psychology.

I have been teaching since 1992, first through Morning Seminars in which I lead groups in psychoanalytic theory and then later teaching courses at both the Professional School of Psychology and at California Institute for Integral Studies. I do supervision of interns and consultation for other licensed professionals.

My work is influenced by my Theravada Buddhist practice.
